It’s a philosophy that feels distinctly Montana. And it’s exactly what inspired Reasonable & Prudent Blended Whisky.

A Different Kind of Whiskey—On Purpose
At its core, Reasonable & Prudent is a blended whisky, combining straight whiskey with grain neutral spirits.
That choice is intentional.
Blending allows us to create something softer, smoother, and more approachable—while still keeping the character of the base whiskey front and center. In this case, that foundation starts with whiskey distilled from Montana-grown barley, bringing a clean malt profile that defines the entire experience.
The result is a whiskey that doesn’t fight you. It opens up. It drinks easy. And it keeps you coming back for another sip.
Finished in Stout Barrels for Depth, Not Weight
After blending, Reasonable & Prudent is finished in stout beer barrels that previously held 369’ Stout from Flathead Lake Brewing Company.
That finishing step adds a layer of depth without overwhelming the whiskey.
Instead of turning it heavy, the stout barrels bring subtle notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, toasted grain, and a light touch of smoke.
It’s complexity—but in a way that stays balanced and drinkable.
