Josephine’s Moonshine

Grain Spirit

Josephine’s Moonshine

Grain Spirit

Proof: 40% Alc. by Vol. (80 Proof)

An un-aged grain spirit distilled from rye and corn, and based on Josephine Doody’s 1920s moonshine recipe. A light-bodied spirit with a floral nose and hints of pepper that give way to a sweet finish. Mix this spirit in anything that you might regularly use with vodka or tequila.

Sizes: 375ml

Bottle of Glacier Distilling's Josephine's Shine

Distillers Notes

Using the same rye, rye malt, and corn mash as our North Fork and Bad Rock whiskeys, we distill this spirit twice in our pot still with a column, pushing the proof up to around 170. The result is a light whiskey—a clear spirit that retains subtle grain characteristics without any barrel aging. Expect a light body and a gentle spiciness from the rye, complemented by a touch of corn sweetness. Some liken its aroma and faint flavor to tequila, making it an intriguing, approachable choice for sipping neat or mixing into cocktails.
